    DeepOcean and Akvaplan-niva in offshore partnership

    5 December 2022 – Ocean services provider DeepOcean and Akvaplan-niva signed an agreement to cooperate regarding the potential utilization of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and unmanned glider vehicles (USVs) to perform environmental studies for offshore wind and oil and gas developments.

    Akvaplan-niva operates autonomous glider to map fish presence and biomass quantity around Hywind Scotland for Equinor

    Equinor, operator of the world’s first floating offshore wind farm, Hywind Scotland, has pioneered a novel method of data collection for offshore wind, using an autonomous Sailbuoy.
    Powered by the wind and sun, the glider travelled on its own from Bergen, Norway, to the wind farm just off the coast of Peterhead, Scotland, where it used acoustic sensors to map fish presence and biomass quantity.
