Kistefos presents Fish, Fish, Duck, a major solo exhibition by London-based painter Issy Wood at Nybruket Gallery. Kistefos åpnet lørdag 9. mai 2026 utstillingen Fish, Fish, Duck av den London-baserte kunstneren Issy Wood i Nybruket Galleri. Utstillingen er kunstnerens første store presentasjon i Norden, og gir publikum anledning til å fordype seg i et kunstnerskap som de siste årene har fått betydelig internasjonal oppmerksomhet.

Schutz is regarded as one of the most significant artists of her generation, known for her distinctive artistic language characterized by expressive paintings and sculptures.
Kistefos er stolte av å kunngjøre et kommende bestillingsverk i skulpturparken: den monumentale bronseskulpturen Blind Boat av den amerikanske kunstneren Dana Schutz (f. 1976). Schutz regnes som en av vår tids mest betydningsfulle kunstnere og er kjent for sitt særegne kunstneriske univers, kjennetegnet av ekspressive malerier og skulpturer.

Kistefos Museum er stolte over å presentere vinneren av designkonkurransen om utarbeidelse av en ny Kistefos spisestol og -bord. Av over 100 bidrag falt juryens valg enstemmig på forslaget til den 28 år gamle arkitekten og møbeldesigneren Fredrik Sletner fra Oslo.
Kistefos is proud to present the first major museum exhibition of American sculptor Kathleen Ryan. Following its debut at Hamburger Kunsthalle in 2024, the exhibition opened at Kistefos on 4 May 2025. Showcasing works from the first decade of Ryan’s artistic practice, the exhibition features twenty-five sculptures displayed across two venues: Nybruket Gallery and the industrial-era Tresliperiet.
For the 2025 season, Kistefos is proud to present Living in the Wake, the first major solo exhibition in the Nordic region by acclaimed American artist Christina Quarles (b. 1985). Staged within the architectural landmark The Twist, the exhibition offers a comprehensive survey of Quarles’ work and includes two entirely new paintings created specifically for the show.
For the opening of the 2025 season, Kistefos was delighted to unveil the 56th permanent work in the museum’s sculpture park: Resting Arms by the Iranian-born, German artist Nairy Baghramian (b. 1971). The sculpture, a highly abstracted portrait of primary joints in the body, was made in white Carrara marble and steel.
Til åpningen av 2025-sesongen hadde Kistefos gleden av å avduke skulpturparkens 56. permanente verk: Resting Arms av den iranskfødte, Tyskland-baserte kunstneren Nairy Baghramian (f. 1971). Skulpturen er et svært abstrahert portrett av kroppens primære ledd, utført i hvit Carrara-marmor og stål. Baghramian bruker disse tradisjonelle skulpturmaterialene til å vise fram menneskekroppens sårbarhet.
Kistefos har gleden av å presentere den amerikanske skulptøren Kathleen Ryans første store museumsutstilling. Etter å ha vært vist ved Hamburger Kunsthalle i 2024, vises utstillingen nå på Kistefos, hvor den åpnet 4. mai 2025. Den omfatter verk fra det første tiåret av Ryans kunstnerskap og består av 25 skulpturer fordelt på to visningssteder: Nybruket Galleri og Tresliperiet.
På sesongåpningen til Kistefos søndag 4. mai åpnet Living in the Wake – den første store soloutstillingen i Norge med den anerkjente amerikanske kunstneren Christina Quarles (f. 1985). Utstillingen vises i det arkitektoniske landemerket The Twist og gir en omfattende presentasjon av Quarles’ kunstnerskap, inkludert to helt nye malerier laget spesielt for anledningen.
Høsten 2024 inviterte Stiftelsen Kistefos-Museet 28 nøye utvalgte arkitektkontorer til prekvalifisering om å utforme et nytt museumsbygg. Nå står åtte finalister igjen i konkurransen om å forme Kistefos’ fremtid. Det nye museumsbygget, planlagt åpnet i 2031, vil bli et permanent hjem for den betydelige kunstsamlingen bygget opp av Christen Sveaas.

In 2025, Kistefos will present an exhibition programme with works by three internationally renowned contemporary artists: Christina Quarles, Kathleen Ryan and Nairy Baghramian. Through the theme ‘The Corporeal and Intersectionality’, this year's programme invites an in-depth reflection on the body as both physical form and cultural symbol, while offering visually striking artistic experiences.
Kistefos er stolte over å kunngjøre avdukingen av Whistleblower, seks glasskulpturer av den internasjonalt anerkjente kunstneren Kader Attia. Skulpturene er plassert i den fredfulle skogen sør for The Twist. Whistleblower er det 54. arbeidet i skulpturparken og beriker museets samling med sin dypsindige utforsking av forholdet mellom natur og kultur.
Kistefos Museum is delighted to announce the unveiling of Whistleblower, six captivating glass sculptures by internationally acclaimed artist Kader Attia. The sculptures, revealed to the public on August 22, 2024, are nestled in the tranquil forest south of The Twist.
Kistefos is delighted to announce the first solo exhibition in Norway of paintings and drawings by acclaimed British artist Hurvin Anderson. Salon Paintings surveys Anderson’s celebrated Barbershop Series, from the earliest Barbershop paintings and related Studio Drawings he made in 2006, through to new paintings on view for the first time with which the series culminates.
