Obton amongst the 11 largest European solar asset owners

Danish investment company Obton sits 11th on the ranking of the biggest asset owners in the European solar business, according to a recent report from the industry magazine Solarplaza.

In the annual ranking of solar asset owners in Europe, Danish solar investor Obton is rapidly approaching the top ten. Obton has advanced five spots since last year’s ranking, which pleases CEO Anders Marcus. “We are proud of advancing in what is becoming an increasingly competitive market, and approaching a spot in the top ten. Given the speed of the industry over the past couple of years, I am impressed that we are able to strengthen our position in the market.”

According to Solarplaza, the number of European solar PV systems has risen 23 percent in the last year alone. Currently, Obton has 600 solar PV systems worldwide with a total capacity of more than 600 MWp – and more are on the way.

“In 2018, we expanded our activities in several countries including the Netherlands, Germany and France. 2019 will be no less exciting with our plans of adding 350 MWp to our portfolio. More than likely, we will sit even higher on Solarplaza rankings next year,” explains Anders Marcus.

Obton is a part of the investment group Obton Group, which presented another record-breaking financial report with profits of DKK 145m before taxes.
