Plantagon at Hong Kong Business of Design Week 2014 - Designing the Business Models of the Future

Hong Kong Business of Design Week (BODW), December 1-6 2014, enjoys the reputation as Asia’s leading annual event on design, innovation and brands. Every year, BODW partners with a different country to bring the best and brightest creative minds to Hong Kong, in order to discuss the design logic behind their innovative, successful products and services.

Hong Kong Design Centre is teaming up with Sweden this year to bring a group of reputable Swedish designers and innovators to the event. The Swedish delegation is headed by Mr. Jörgen Halldin, Swedish Consul-General in Hong Kong and Macao SAR.

Since Sweden is considered one of the frontrunners in green technology and organic products, one of this year’s BODW themes is 'Designing for a Sustainable Future'. At the session for Sustainable Future Living, Hans Hassle, CEO and founder of Plantagon International presents Plantagon’s unique hybrid business model the “Companization”.

“We are honored to be invited to represent Sweden along with well-known industrial and design companies as Volvo, Scania, H&M, IKEA and Ericsson. We are also happy that BODW acknowledges that sustainable design incorporates green business ideas as well as sustainable organizational models,” says Hans Hassle, CEO of Plantagon International.

Plantagon’s engineering and design partner Sweco, a Swedish cutting-edge engineering company, is also participating in the BODW. Sweco will be displaying the high-profile Plantagon Greenhouse for Urban Agriculture in the main exhibition hall during the week.

Business of Design Week (BODW) is a flagship event organized by Hong Kong Design Centre since 2002. Each year, BODW brings to Hong Kong some of the world’s most outstanding design masters and influential business figures to inspire the regional audience on creative thinking and design management. In addition, it also provides a valuable platform for participants to network, exchange ideas and explore business cooperation. Today, BODW enjoys the reputation as Asia’s leading annual event on design, innovation and brands.

BODW program is versatile, in selecting Sweden as this year’s partner country, the highlights include the BODW Forum which will feature “Living Design”, focusing on “live it”, “work it”, “wear it” & “do it” to penetrate the theme in different sessions, concurrent events covering the topics of brand innovation, cutting-edge technologies, city and the culture, business of intellectual property and more, exhibitions welcoming both public and trade visitors, as well as the DETOUR community program which aims to inspire the participants about the power of design in building a better tomorrow
