Changes to ship services in the Vuosaari Harbour

The Port of Helsinki will offer ship services in the Vuosaari Harbour from the beginning of the new year. There will be 11 employees in Vuosaari, in addition to the supervisors. The services are available around the clock, every day of the year. The transportations of sailors will become free of charge on the same occasion.

  • Extension of the Valtamerilaituri quay in Jätkäsaari

    The Port of Helsinki is extending the Valtamerilaituri quay in Jätkäsaari.  Around 460 metres of newquay is being built. The water permit for the quay extension was obtained in May, and the dredging works were completed in October 2013. The completion of the quay in 2015 will increase the overall area of the new port to 6 hectares.

    The shore power system built at Katajanokka for the Viking Line ships that sail to Sweden has been in use for one year.   • More departures for M/S Cinderella on the Helsinki–Tallinn route

    Starting on 14th December, Viking Line brought the second largest vessel in its fleet, M/S Cinderella, on a visit to the Helsinki–Tallinn route, in order to serve the traffic for Christmas parties. The ship has received such a welcome reception that Viking Line has decided to lengthen the visit of M/S Cinderella to Helsinki past the turn of the year.     The St Peter Line ships M/S Princess Maria and M/S Princess Anastasia will be taken out of traffic between 10th January and 21st March 2014. Both ships will serve as hotels during the Winter Olympics Games. The Winter Olympics Games will be held in Sochi, Russia, 7th–23rd February 2014.
