  • Sweden's Minister for the Environment and Climate Isabella Lövin will be attending the Children’s Climate Prize 2020

    On 12 November, this year's Children’s Climate Prize will be recorded “live on tape”, and it has now been confirmed that Sweden's Minister for the Environment and Climate and Deputy Prime Minister, Isabella Lövin, will be present during the recording and participating in the broadcast. On 18 November at 10am and 7pm CET, the digital event will be broadcast globally.

  • Två indiska hållbarhetsprojekt vinner Children’s Climate Prize 2020

    Vinnarna av årets Children’s Climate Prize är Vinisha Umashankar, 14 år och Aadya Joshi, 17 år båda från Indien. Vinisha vinner Clean Air priset för sitt initiativ med solcellsdrivna strykjärn och Aadya vinner Changemaker priset för sitt biodiversitets projekt The Right Green. Båda belönas med diplom, medalj samt 100 000 SEK från Children’s Climate Foundation för att utveckla sina verksamheter.

  • Two Indian sustainability projects win the Children's Climate Prize 2020

    The winners of this year's Children's Climate Prize are Vinisha Umashankar, 14, and Aadya Joshi, 17, both from India. Vinisha wins the Clean Air prize for her initiative with solar-powered ironing carts and Aadya wins the Changemaker prize for her biodiversity project The Right Green. They each receive SEK 100,000 from the Children's Climate Foundation to develop their projects.

I samband med Coronas framfart har man ställt om produktionen och satsar på att tillverka visir och ansiktsmasker för anställda inom sjukvården och skolor i hemlandet Tanzania.

    At the age of 17, Edgar started Green Venture Recycles, a company that normally converts waste plastic to building materials. As the corona virus intensified, they shifted their production to manufacturing visors and face masks for healthcare workers and school employees in Tanzania, Edgar's homeland.

    Sam Barratt is head of the Education, Youth and Advocacy Unit in the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Ecosystem Division. This year, Sam takes a seat in the jury for the Children's Climate Prize, who meets digitally this week to select the two winners of 2020.

    Sam Barratt är chef för utbildnings- och ungdomsenheten på FN:s miljöavdelning för ekosystem. Tidigare var han chef på avdelningen för offentligt stöd vid FN:s miljöprogram, där ansvarade han över alla globala kampanjer i frågor som rör luftkvalitet och marint skräp. I år tar han plats i juryn för Children’s Climate Prize som sammanträder sista veckan i september för att utse 2020 års vinnare.

    The nomination period for this year’s Children’s Climate Prize is about to end. Nominations of sustainable projects, initiatives and climate-smart inventions can be handed in until September 21. Recognition and prize money of SEK 100,000 is on the table.

    The founder of the Children's Climate Prize now forms the Children's Climate Foundation to ensure long-term and continued promotion of children and young people's climate and environmental commitment. Telge Energi instituted the Children’s Climate Prize in 2016 to highlight the perspective of children and young people based on the realization that it is the their future that is at stake.
