For the eighth year, the Children's Climate Prize will be awarded to a young person who has made extraordinary efforts for the climate and the environment. This year, the award's jury chairman Johan Kuylenstierna will be joined by Siiri Maekelae, UN Environment Programme and Selin Gören, YOUTHOPIA among others.
För åttonde året ska Children’s Climate Prize delas ut till en ungdom som gjort enastående insatser för klimat och miljö. För att utse 2022 års vinnare har en eminent jury tillsatts, bestående av både unga och vuxna med bred kompetens inom området. Prisets juryordförande Johan Kuylenstierna får i år sällskap av Siiri Mäkelä, UN Environment Programme och Selin Gören, YOUTHOPIA med flera.
Den 4 juni stängde årets nomineringsperiod som varit öppen sedan 10 mars. Med inkomna bidrag från samtliga världsdelar (utom Antarktis), tangerades fjolårets rekord med nästan det dubbla antalet nomineringar. I år finns 32 länder representerade när juryn ska utse finalister och vinnare av Children’s Climate Prize 2021.
En oberoende jury utser varje år vinnare och finalister av Children’s Climate Prize. Juryn består av en mix av människor unga och vuxna, alla med kompetens och intresse för hållbarhetsfrågor på olika sätt. I årets jury deltar bland annat representanter från FN med Sam Barratt.
