Cortus CEO Rolf Ljunggren is one of the speakers at the leading European cleantech conference, Cleantech Forum Europe in Munich, April 16-18, 2012.

Rolf Ljunggren, CEO of Cortus
Mr. Ljunggren has a background in business and technology. He has worked with applications and supply solutions in industrial gases for thirteen years in the Nordic region as well as internationally. He has worked with management, sales and development in industrial automation, procurement and services. He holds an MSc in Metals and Metallurgy from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

Cortus offers environmentally friendly and renewable energy for process and power industries. The company has received international attention for its patented gasification process WoodRoll ®.

  • EXCEPTIONAL GASIFICATION RESULTS FOR CORTUS

    STOCKHOLM/KÖPING, February 23, 2012 — The Swedish clean-tech company, Cortus, has succeeded for the first time, in a 500 kW gasification plant, to produce synthesis gas from biomass without traces of hydrocarbons. It has previously not been possible to produce completely pure biogas from biomass without generating impurities of hydrocarbons.

  • Cortus’ first batch of Syngas produced in 500kW prototype

    Cortus’ 500kW prototype of the WoodRoll® gasifier has successfully produced the first batch of green Syngas in tests in Stockholm. “These are extremely exciting times for us as we see a 500 kW system delivering first class Syngas for the first time. This is a significant step towards the full commercialization of our gasification technology”, says Cortus CEO Rolf Ljunggren.

  • Cortus acquires GEP Group

    Cortus has acquired the business of consultancy company GEP Group on April 1, 2011 and therefore forms the subsidiary Cortus Engineering AB. The deal means that cooperation between Cortus and GEP on gasification technologies and projects has entered a new phase.

  • Cortus builds biomass gasification plant

    The Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten) has decided to financially support the building of a plant for the gasification of biomass to green energy gas. The purpose is to gasify biomass in full scale in a new way to replace fossil fuels. Behind the patented process is the Swedish innovation company Cortus.

  • Open Innovation Project with the Nordic Council

    Cortus has recently participated in an Open Innovation project, initiated by the Nordic Council. The project scope is to develop an open market place, where innovation, intellectual capital and property rights can be brokered, and to test the theories of Open Innovation. Cortus submitted a challenge on char upgrading, which will further improve the efficiency of our WoodRoll® technology.

  • Cortus visits Hong Kong as part of Swedish Innovation Showcase

    Cortus visited Hong Kong for the Stockholm Innovation Showcase, held in Hong Kong Science Park on October 25th, 2011. Cortus was one of the six exciting Swedish cleantech companies that participated in this seminar, attended by investors and industry players of Hong Kong.

  • New Project Engineer Joins the Cortus Team - Ram Alzuheri

    Ram Alzuheri has joined Cortus as a project engineer since 1st of August. Ram holds a Master’s in Chemical Engineering degree from KTH, Stockholm. He has been involved extensively with the 500kW prototype and the 5MW demonstration plant in Köping. Ram is a strong believer in the future of green energy as a substitute to fossil fuel and is extremely excited to be part of the Cortus team.
