A celebration of 25 years of Swedish contemporary art
On 30th October, the Gothenburg Museum of Art presents an exhibition featuring cutting edge artists in Sweden at the turn of the millennium. The anniversary exhibition Towards another world celebrates the power of art to conceive and create other worlds.
En hyllning till samtida svensk konsthistoria
Hösten 2021 välkomnar Göteborgs konstmuseum till en utställning med konstnärer i framkanten inom svensk samtidskonst. Retrospektivet Mot en annan värld är en del av Stenastiftelsens 25-årsjubileum och presenterar ett urval av stiftelsens stipendiater under 25 år. Samtidigt är utställningen en hyllning till konstens förmåga att föreställa sig och skapa andra världar.
Enticing and multifaceted Sandra Mujinga
Three-meter-tall guardians in hoodies and a hologram levitating in a darkened room. Camouflage, bodily presence and surveillance are major themes for the Congolese-Norwegian artist Sandra Mujinga, who now presents her first solo exhibition at a museum in Sweden. The presentation at the Gothenburg Museum of Art opens on July 10.

On June 13:th, the research-based exhibition "The Universal Language: Post-War Abstract Art" opens at the Gothenburg Museum of Art, where post-war abstract art is explored using the museum’s collection as a point of departure.
The Gothenburg Museum of Art presents sculptor Jone Kvie in an solo exhibition
The Gothenburg Museum of Art is proud to present Jone Kvie in a solo exhibition opening February 24th. Kvie is an Norwegian artist who explores sculpture as form, material and weight with both classical and modernist methods. With references to nature, alchemy and the universe, he investigates the present age and the human condition in monumental, organic and minimalistic sculptures.

Tove Jansson is presented in a major exhibition at the Gothenburg Museum of Art
Saturday, February 11 opens a solo exhibition featuring the work of the Finland–Swedish artist Tove Jansson – one of the most beloved artists in Scandinavia - at the Gothenburg Museum of Art. The exhibition presents Jansson’s parallel careers as a visual artist, illustrator, caricaturist, cartoonist and creator of the world famous Moomin figures.
