Press release -

Barcelona next for the Bäckman's

Jessica and Andreas Bäckman are back in TCR Europe this weekend and this time the series travels to Barcelona, Spain for the fourth round of the European series.
- I have good memories from last year's achievements on this track, says Andreas Bäckman.

This weekend, October 9th-11th, Europe’s top drivers will compete at the famous Formula 1 track Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which is located close to Barcelona in Spain. The track has top-class facilities and are the host of the Spanish Grand Prix in Formula 1, as well as other big racing championships.

First win
Andreas Bäckman has good memories from this track, as last year he claimed both Pole-Position and his first win in the TCR Europe championship at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Andreas is looking forward to being back and aims to repeat the same results as last year.

- Barcelona is one of my favorite circuits and one of the circuits I have driven the most on, so it feels good for the weekend and I am ready. I have good memories from last year's achievements on this circuit, Andreas Bäckman says.

Continue the positive trend
In the previous race at Monza Jessica Bäckman achieved her season best finish in TCR Europe when she raced herself up to 7th place after a difficult qualifying. This weekend, she intends to continue the positive trend and aims even higher.

- In Monza, I felt that I took a step in the right direction and I am looking forward to this weekend when we are back in Barcelona, a very nice circuit that is hilly and has several different corners that are both fun and challenging, Jessica Bäckman says.

The 4,655 km long circuit has a big variation of corners and straights. The track's great variety with hard braking, fast- and slow corners, and is unique since it usually results in exciting touring car races.

- I like the track in Barcelona, we have driven here for the past two years and it is a track that is challenging and usually offers spectacular races and many overtakes, Andreas Bäckman says.
