    Liseberg reports strong financial results despite major restrictions

    Despite a delayed opening and extensive capacity constraints, Liseberg reports an improvement in earnings of almost one billion SEK for 2021 compared to 2020. "We are beginning to see the contours of a Liseberg, which has made its way through the crisis," says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg.

    On June 22, 2020 Swedish amusement parks were informed that they will not be allowed to open this summer. This has large consequences for the Swedish amusement park industry. Despite this, Liseberg is looking ahead. South of the amusement park the new Grand Curiosa Hotel is rapidly taking shape. “In these tough times, it feels amazing to see this project come to life”, says Andreas Andersen.

    This spring Liseberg opens the new Dark Ride Underland, situated in the children’s area Kaninlandet (the Rabbit Land). For the new ride, visitors will not have to stand in a physical queue and wait. Instead, Liseberg launches a newly developed virtual queuing system.

  • Valkyria’s track is now fully assembled

    Valkyria’s track is now fully assembled

    This week, the last section of Valkyria’s track was assembled and the track is now complete. Four roller coaster enthusiasts were invited to sign the track section, together with staff working on Valkyria. The track section was put into place with three flags attached to it; one Polish, one German and one large Swedish flag, representing the different countries and the teams working on Valkyria.
