Now Melisha releases the 20th song in her #onesongamonth project - this time an Electronic Drum & Bass song!
Now the 20th song is released in the project where the Gothenburg-based music producer and artist Melisha releases a song and music video a month. This time it's an electronic drum & bass track called Fast Track that is inspired by equality and awareness. The music is produced, mixed and mastered by herself, recorded in the studio in Brewhouse and released independently.

Melisha talks about the inspiration for the song:
"When I wrote this song I was inspired by a conversation with a friend of mine when we talked about toxic masculinity, and how new waves of male influencers wants to keep women in boxes of old traditional female roles.
I also read an interview with the genius inventor Nikola Tesla from 1926, where he was predicting that a new sex order is coming in the future where women would be more educated and accomplished than men, which is actually NOT something I would hope for because I just want it to be equal respect. But the part of his thoughts of women evolving through time towards awareness of her worth really inspired the lyrics.
It’s interesting to think about the time line of humanity and how gender equality regarding relationships, education and opportunities have changed just in the itty bitty last part of it - it’s like were on a ”Fast track” of awareness.
I don’t care too much for the war of these things, I just care for us all to be respected, no matter gender or background. Words matter and it matters to be treated with respect and integrity in every situation. To listen and understand each other but it’s also important to be able to stand up for yourself when someone tries to put you down in a toxic way.
The woman in the lyrics doesn’t care about listening to gaslighting, threats or attacks on her character which is damaging to her self esteem. She is aware of what is toxic behavior towards her and she is free to choose respect in her life and also get space. The awareness is because of all her experience with this behavior towards her in the past.
To love for real is a choice we make everyday and it’s actually more simple than we think. - Just chill and love people for who they are for gods sake."

ABOUT MELISHA
Melisha is a Swedish / Norwegian DIY producer / artist from Gothenburg with a studio in Brewhouse since the last 10 years but has had the studio for a total of 22 years. She has a Bachelor degree within music production from Dalarnas University, she attended a master's programme in audiovisual design (where a master's thesis is impatiently waiting to be completed.)
Produced for other artists but is now releasing her own music on her independent label.
Each song has its own atmosphere and soundscape and the creation of this is a big part of her creativity.
She has been a teacher within production at the University of Gothenburg, HSM, since 2017.
She co founded the non profit organization EQLovesMusic and has been the project manager for EQLovesFestival, which featured many famous female world names in music production, including Sylvia Massy, Linn FIjal, Leila Arab, Ebony Bones, Erin Tonkon, Gloria Kaba, Heba Kadry, Ana Diaz and many more.
In the summer of 2021, Melisha started the project #onesongamonth, which means that she releases one song a month with an accompanying music video, more precisely the last Friday of each month. How long will she be able to do this ?
