Calle Friberg blog #6 Stage racing in Spain

Now Im finally in Spain with Jojje Borssen from Kadens Magazine to do Andalucia Bike Race. We are racing it but also covering it for the the magazine. Which means we ride with cameras and try to do a couple interviews with each other during the stages too. So not so much focus on getting a good result.

Its really nice to be riding in just bibs and short sleeve jersey after training in the dark, snowy and icey swedish winter back home. Today we did a 34 km prologue with 715 meters of climbing. Jojje had a puncture and a small crash but apart from that everything went just fine. Nice trails and weather.

As you see I got to use my Simi on the way from the race meeting last night (see picture bellow)

Follow us this week on www.kadens.se (http://www.kadens.se/index.htm)

Hasta luego / Calle

Training is going good ahead of Andalucia Bike Race in less than 2 weeks time now. To prepare I have been XC-skiing and biking. You can really tell it´s just a couple of weeks to the huge xc ski event Vasaloppet. A lot of people with headlights out there trying to get as much kilometers as possible ahead of the race. Cool to see.

The last couple of weeks I have been training pretty good actually. Not compared to when I was pro MTB:er, but comparing with the last 2 years. Almost starting to feel like an athlete again. Feels good. The main reason I have stepped my training up a notch is because I´m going to participate in a 6 day MTB stage race in Spain at the end of Febuary called Andalucia Bike Race.
