Media Coverage from Live for the Outdoors: Best camping stoves for 2024

Camping is one of life’s great joys. So is food. Combing the two, then is a no brainer - and we think the greatest joy of campsite loitering is being able to make proper scran outdoors. Yep, we're talking sausages, bacon, French toast, casseroles, soups, stews and quesadillas - rather than just having to eat rehydrated sludge using only boiling water as a cooking medium. But to achieve all those d

One piece of kit you really can't do without when running in low visibility is a good-quality running head torch. Not just any running headtorch will do, you need one with a strong enough beam, that's wide enough to light up the trail ahead and around you, and can cope with an extended period on the go.
You might think you're an ace at a technical decent, but throw in low visibility conditions

In this video, I'm giving PaddleTV Awards to the top kayak camping, canoe camping, SUP camping, and packraft camping gear. I give these annual awards to the top gear that I test every year. Of course, I can't test all gear, and so I know there's other gear out there that deserves a PaddleTV award. But it doesn't change the fact that this gear deserves special mention for being amazing.

HOW TO USE ONE HEADLAMP FOR ALL YOUR ACTIVITIES
#silvaheadlampguide
➖

Life is too short to choose just one sport.
Instead of buying one headlamp for each activity, choose one of our multi-activity headlamps.

SILVA FREE (shown in the video) and SPECTRA are designed for multiple activities and can easily be switched between the different mount accessories. The battery can also be carried in multiple ways by using the different battery accessories and cables.

The same goes for our previous multi-activity headlamp models: Exceed, Trail Speed and Cross Trail.

HOW MUCH LIGHT DO YOU NEED? 🔦
#silvaheadlampguide
➖

The first question to ask yourself when buying a new headlamp is how much light you actually need. Avoid buying an unnecessarily powerful headlamp, which typically needs a larger, heavier battery.

So, how much light do you need?

🔦 200-400 lumen: Sufficient for everyday tasks and slow-paced
activities on roads and floodlit trails.
🔦 400-600 lumen: Sufficient for activities at a moderate pace on
most forest trails.
🔦 1200-3000 lumen: Sufficient for fast-paced technical terrain.
🔦 10,000 lumen: When you want to turn night into day.

Keep in mind that:
👉 A good light picture requires fewer lumens for sufficient brightness.
👉 Higher lumens reduce burn time.
👉 For longer activities or high-lumen settings, a larger battery is necessary.
