Welcoming Fredrik Norell to the team
We’re excited to finally welcome Fredrik Norell to join as co-founder of ReCarber and our Chief Financial Officer.
Based out of ReCarber’s small Paris outfit, Fredrik joins after nearly eight years at BlackRock Global Infrastructure Partners, where he led renewable investments across Northern Europe. His career spans more than 15 years in energy finance, with previous roles at Element Power and Shell, helping to shape large-scale infrastructure projects across Europe.
With this background, he brings deep expertise in renewable infrastructure and climate-aligned capital to our mission of delivering high-impact carbon removal.
Years ago, Fredrik and our CEO Kristoffer Labuc first began exploring ideas around climate innovation and value chains in need of simplification. What started as a conversation has now come full circle—with Fredrik stepping in to complete our founding team.
At ReCarber, we’re focused on making BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage) real—starting in the Nordics. These projects have enormous potential to reverse emissions, but complexity, fragmentation, and lack of transparency have slowed progress.
That’s exactly what we’re here to change.
With Fredrik onboard, we’re doubling down on our ability to mobilize capital, de-risk execution, and move BECCS from concept to reality—faster, smarter, and with lasting climate impact.
