Welcoming Sofia Törnroth Nyberg to the team

We’re proud to share that Sofia has joined ReCarber as Co-Founder & Chief Legal Officer, leading our legal strategy as we build and scale high-integrity carbon removal projects in the Nordics and beyond.

Sofia brings deep, hands-on expertise in complex finance and regulated environments, with a career spanning top-tier law firms and major financial institutions. She joins ReCarber after five years at Danske Bank, most recently as Head of Legal, where she navigated high-stakes legal matters at the intersection of banking, risk, and governance.

Before that, Sofia was Counsel at Advokatfirman Vinge, and previously Partner and Head of Banking & Finance at Baker McKenzie in Stockholm—advising on a wide range of sophisticated financing transactions, syndicated facilities, corporate loans and bonds, and restructurings. Earlier in her career, she spent over a decade at Cederquist in corporate finance, with international experience through secondments including Allen & Overy in London and work with Swedbank Structured Finance.

At ReCarber, we’re focused on making real—projects with enormous climate potential, but where success depends on trust, robust structures, and bankable execution across the full value chain.

With Sofia onboard, we’re strengthening the foundations that matter most: clear governance, smart risk allocation, and finance-ready legal frameworks that can scale with the market.
