Sanofi Establishes a Global Agreement with Medco and UBC to Improve Quality of Patient Care through Real-World Evidence
Sanofi announced today that it has entered into a global agreement with Medco Health Solutions, Inc. and United BioSource Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Medco, to better leverage the real-world evidence generated during product development and throughout the product lifecycle in order to improve the overall quality of patient care.

Sanofi GetGoal Program on Lyxumia®, as an Add-on to Basal Insulin, Shows Significant Positive Phase III Results
Sanofi announced today that new results from a Phase III study showed that the investigational product Lyxumia® (lixisenatide), when used as an add-on therapy to basal insulin (in association with or without metformin), achieved its primary efficacy endpoint of significantly reducing HbA1c versus placebo for patients with type 2 diabetes without significantly increasing their risk of hypoglycemia.

Den 1 maj 2011 sänker vi kraftigt priset på Insuman Basal SoloSTAR vilket innebär att Insuman Basal SoloSTAR blir 20% billigare än Insulatard FlexPen. Därmed blir Insuman Basal SoloSTAR blir det billigaste NPH-insulinet i förfylld penna på den svenska marknaden.

Ny studie visar på en signifikant minskning av antalet skov per år och uppbromsning av sjukdomsprogressen hos MS-patientersom byter till Copaxone® (glatirameracetat)
Data som presenterades visar också att 70 procent av patienterna fick en förbättrad eller stabiliserad kognition efter behandling med Copaxone®. Data presenterade vid det 63:e årsmötet för American Academy of Neurology (AAN) i Honolulu på Hawaii.

Lixisenatide Significantly Reduces HbA1c Without Increasing Hypoglycemia in Patients Uncontrolled on Sulfonylureas
Sanofi-aventis announced today that lixisenatide, a once-daily GLP-1 receptor agonist under development for people with Type 2 diabetes, achieved its primary efficacy objective of significant HbA1c reduction and improved glycemic control from baseline versus placebo. The top-line results also showed that people treated with lixisenatide had a significant decrease in body weight.

Jevtana® har godkänts som andrahandsbehandling av framskriden prostatacancer – Första preparatet som signifikant förlänger total överlevnad hos mHRPC-patienter
EU-kommissionen har nu godkänt Jevtana (cabazitaxel), i kombination med prednison eller prednisolon, för behandling av patienter med metastatisk hormonrefraktär prostatacancer (mHRPC) som tidigare fått docetaxel-baserad behandling. Resultat från TROPIC-studien visade att Jevtana ger mer än hälften av patienterna åtminstone ett år till att leva.

Sanofi-aventis signs New Agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) to fight Neglected Tropical Diseases
Sanofi-aventis (EURONEXT: SAN and NYSE: SNY) announced today it had signed a new agreement to donate $25 million, extending its decade-long partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) for another five years to control neglected tropical diseases, including the potentially fatal Human African Trypanosomiasis, also known as sleeping sickness.

Nytt cancerläkemedel mot prostatacancer rekommenderas för godkännande inom EU
CHMP inom EMA har gett ett positivt utlåtande (”positive opinion”) där de rekommenderar att JEVTANA® (cabazitaxel) ska godkännas för försäljning inom EU. Stora regionala skillnader, brist på urologer och kunskapsluckor skapar en orättvis cancervård i Sverige. Det slog en enig debatt fast vid ett kvällsseminarium i Stockholm. Samtidigt visade panelen att det finns en stark vilja att förändra vården och skapa bättre förutsättningar för alla att få tillgång till god och kvalitativ vård.

Sanofi-aventis Establishes Research Collaboration with Harvard University
Sanofi-aventis announced today a research collaboration with Harvard University. The goal of the collaboration is to advance knowledge in the area of human health through basic and applied research and to promote scientific exchange between Harvard University and sanofi-aventis. The focus is translational biomedical research in multiple therapeutic areas such as cancer, diabetes and inflammation.
