  • Over EUR 1.68 billion worth of biomass power projects in Sweden

    New large biomass combined heat and power (CHP) plants are being planned for Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Uppsala, while construction is underway for new plants in Borås, Upplands Bro and Västerås. Together, these projects represent around SEK 16 billion (≈ EUR 1.68 billion) of investment according to Bioenergi's annual report and overview of biomass power plants in Sweden.

  • All biofuels with high GHG emissions reduction are advanced

    This week Svebio is hosting International Advanced Biofuels Conference in Gothenburg (18 - 19 May, study tours on 17 May). Advanced biofuels are all biofuels which reduce greenhouse gas emissions more than 70 per cent compared to fossil fuels. At the conference leading international experts will will present research and experience from advanced biofuels projects around the world.

  • Almost a quarter of Sweden’s diesel is now biodiesel

    During the first half of 2016, biodiesel accounted for almost a quarter (23.8%) of all diesel fuel delivered to the Swedish transport fuel market. This is according to an analysis made by Svebio, the Swedish Bioenergy Association and based on data from Statistics Sweden.
