Cyber Day succesfully conducted

CYBER DAY

Today was ”Cyber Day” during the exercise Nordic Pine 23. The training audience on site at VTT in Esbo were put in difficult situations where they were challenged with threats and incidents forcing them to act in their different roles.

To counter and mitigate threats to renewable energy systems, for example cyber threats and malign influence threats, you need the proper education but also training. That is what this and other exercises are for.

Professor Lina Bertling Tjernberg at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology held an excellent and very topical lecture on line for training audience on both sites.

During the day we had distinguished visitors e.g. the Swedish Military Attaché to Finland, Col Kalevi Wikström.

Michael Davis, Chief EXEVAL in the exercise, briefed about the importance of everyone contributing to the First Impression Report, the tool for evaluating the exercise, following the proper NATO procedures.

The exercise director, Freddy Jönsson Hanberg, was very content and truly impressed by the engagement and commitment of the training audience. He is also very grateful for the participation from government agencies, acting as “secondary training audience” in the exercise.

Freddy and Michael hade to travel to Sweden again during the day to be able to participate on the Swedish training site in Karlstad. Both sites are arranging a dinner tonight, since the social interaction and networking is one of the most important benefits of gathering physically on training sites.
