Nordic Pine - latest news

Since the silent procedure ended the 12th of January, it is now official that the 24th of November, the NATO Science & Technology Board decided to formalize SAS-191, the research technical course that will be the vehicle for the exercise Nordic Pine. Freddy Jönsson Hanberg was appointed to lead SAS-191.

The nations that are included in Nordic Pine are Sweden, Finland, Canada, Germany, Denmark and Croatia. EXCON and EXEVAL will be supported by the US Naval Postgraduate School.

Nordic Pine 23 was successfully conducted between 19-21 of September and the 26 of October.

ROADMAP TO NP24:

o The SAS PANEL was conducted in Washington 1-3 Nov, SAS-191 was endorsed by the panel on the 6th of Nov
o The NATO Science & Technology Board (STB) decision meeting took place the 24th Nov
o EXDIR Freddy Jönsson Hanberg and OCE Arnold Dupuy visited NATO STO CSO in Paris the 4th of Dec to inform and receive information
o Freddy visited the Swedish EU-rep, EU EEAS the 5th of December to inform and coordinate the EU dimension
o Freddy visited ENSEC CoE in Vilnius the 7th of December to coordinate NORDIC PINE and COHERENT RESILIENCE
o Freddy visited NATO HQ and the Swedish NATO-rep 8th of Dec
o Nordic Pine will be administered as a RTC within the NATO STO SAS framework formalized as SAS-191 and will partly be funded by NATO

Planning for Nordic Pine 24 starts the 6th of February with a CPT meeting between the NATO STO CSO, EXDIR and the Senior National Representatives from the participating nations.

  • Malign influence exercise at Nordic Pine 23 today

    Today at Nordic Pine 23 the training audience at the Esbo and Karlstad sites were engaged in the malign influence exercise lead by the Chief Response Cell, Carl Heath from RISE.

  • Cyber Day succesfully conducted

    Today was ”Cyber Day” during the exercise Nordic Pine 23. The training audience on site at VTT in Esbo were put in difficult situations where they were challenged with threats and incidents forcing them to act in their different roles.

  • Academic seminar succesfully conducted

    The Academic Seminar of the NATO-exercise was succesfully conducted today. The seminar was broadcasted via encrypted VTC and joined by the training audiences in Esbo and Karlstad.

  • Om en vecka inleds Nordic Pine 23

    En vecka kvar till NATO-övningen Nordic Pine 23. Övningsdeltagarna utsätts för olika fiktiva hot som de måste hantera. Hoten kan handla om cyberangrepp, påverkansoperationer eller risker i försörjningskedjorna.
