Long live the fairs – Nordbygg, an awaited industry meeting

Finally, we could see each other at Nordbygg again! After two years of pandemic and a postponed fair, Nordbygg 2022 was a long wait for the public construction sector. This year’s edition has had many positive reviews and many lyrical faces have been seen in the exhibition halls.

Four packed days of the largest fair of the Nordics for the construction and property industries are over. More than 930 exhibiting companies have filled Stockholmsmässan’s facilities in Älvsjö this year, of which around 300 were foreign. The number of visitors was about 35,000. The superlatives have echoed in the aisles of the fair.

Lina Hann and Peter Söderberg, both Project managers at Nordbygg, are very happy with this year’s effort:

– It’s nothing short of amazing that Nordbygg finally happened, after four years of waiting. To be able to meet up on this scale means a great deal for the industry, says Peter Söderberg, who now finishes his work with Nordbygg after 20 years as a project manager.

A successful fair for debutant exhibitors
The common denominator for both veterans as well as debutants was the joy of meeting industry people again. The first-time exhibitor Stegia, which sells technical equipment for the ventilation industry, is incredibly happy after the fair is over.

– We have had people at our stand from opening until closing, which has been extremely momentous to us. We have seen many new customers and had rewarding meetings, but the amazing thing is that I am still alert when I get home after the fair - Nordbygg gives energy! says Johan Stjernberg, CEO at Stegia.

Looking forward to 2024
After the successful return of Nordbygg, the preparations for the coming fair, arranged in 2024, are already starting.

– The business meeting, networking and knowledge transfer will once again be the focus, says Lina Hann, who is now taking over as Head after Peter Söderberg.

Digitalisation, climate declarations, fossil-free, and new innovative materials have been hot topics at Nordbygg 2022. It remains to be seen how these vital topics will be managed by the industry until next Nordbygg, and which new ones will be added.
