"More than a Room" explores the future of retail at Formex 2027
What does the future store look like when the experience becomes just as important as the product? At Formex, taking place January 19-21, 2027, interior stylists Linda Fratini and Marie Wärme present More than a Room, an inspiring exhibition where retail, design, art and experiences come together.
At a time when retail is evolving and consumers are seeking increasingly personal and meaningful experiences, More than a Room explores what tomorrow's store could be. Is it a home, a gallery, a studio, or a place for community and creativity? The exhibition invites visitors to discover new perspectives on retail and customer experience through inspiring environments where stories, products and people take centre stage.
Colour, form, materials and trends meet here in unexpected combinations. Products from Formex exhibitors are displayed alongside art, vintage pieces, craftsmanship, upcycled creations and fashion to create engaging environments that spark curiosity and inspiration.
But More than a Room is about more than visual impressions.
Visitors are encouraged to experience the exhibition with all their senses: touching, listening, smelling, conversing and exploring. The starting point is the belief that the store of the future should not only be a place for purchasing, but also a destination for inspiration, connection and meaningful experiences.
A creative collaboration between two strong voices in interior design
Behind the exhibition are Linda Fratini and Marie Wärme, two respected profiles with different backgrounds but a shared vision for creativity, sustainability and the way people interact with spaces.
Linda Fratini is an interior designer and creative director with a strong focus on personal environments, art and the interplay between old and new. She is also the founder of the design brand H(a)ve me over, where Swedish craftsmanship and sustainable design are at the heart of the concept.
Marie Wärme is an interior stylist and a regular contributor to Sköna Hem magazine. Her work is characterised by circular thinking, craftsmanship and experience-driven retail, where aesthetics and sustainability go hand in hand.
Together, they have created an exhibition where the boundaries between store, home, art gallery and experiential space become blurred.
"Together, we have triple the energy. We inspire and challenge each other, encourage and rein each other in when needed. That makes the creative process both more enjoyable and more rewarding," say Linda Fratini and Marie Wärme.
More than a Room will be on display at Formex at Stockholmsmässan from January 19-21, 2027.
