When Formex celebrates its 65th anniversary this August, the spotlight will be on patterns, colour, and Swedish design. The exhibition Tapetgallerie, featuring around ten wallpaper producers, along with Tapetlunden, offers visitors a unique experience of 150 metres of wallpaper inspiration – a vibrant tribute to Sweden’s unique tradition of printmaking on paper and textiles.

Just over a week has passed since Formex closed its doors, and the results point to a bright future for the interior design industry. When Formex opens its doors on August 27th, the focus will be on a topic that has never been more relevant: sustainability. Formex is making a significant investment in this area and is presenting a brand-new sustainability exhibition this year, created by Malin Jensen, Maria Lagerman, and Maria Soxbo. The exhibition "Hållbart?” explores eight different interpretations of sustainability.
On August 27th, Formex opens, and as usual, selected designers will showcase their products in the Formex Design Talents area. One of the designers will then be chosen as the winner of "Best in Show." The award goes to the designer who stands out the most in terms of idea, form, and presentation and is announced on the opening day.

As Formex opened on August 22, the color brand CANCAN was launched, a new initiative aimed at enriching the color industry and inspiring greater creative freedom in a new era. Behind CANCAN stands the leading Nordic paint specialty trade, Colorama.
This year’s Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, the world’s leading meeting place for Scandinavian design, will be held on February 4–8. The issue of sustainability is a clear presence in the designs, material choices and production processes of many exhibitors this year.
Formex has established the Formex Nova award – Nordic Designer of the Year, to promote high quality Nordic design created by a still relatively unknown designer working in the Nordic interior design industry. A jury appoints the nominees for the award. The winner will be presented August 18.
At Formex on January 14–17, 2020 the focus will be on the challenges faced by retailers when the international trend and content agency Carlin takes over Stockholmsmässan’s Entrance Hall with their Retail Hub exhibition. The aim is to both inspire and offer new insights to exhibitors and visitors by highlighting the latest themes in retail.
