  • Formex invites you to the greens of summer in January

    Oddcolony is the titillating name of this season's Formex’s combined restaurant, stage, and inspirational exhibition in Hall B. The Oddbirds are the super designers responsible for the design of the dazzling Oddcolony area that will be on site complete with a greenhouse, garden beds, and budding tulip bulbs when Formex kicks off the design year in the middle of January.

    Trend Zone is the name of Formex's new acclaimed segment for trend inspiration. After its success last year, the area is being further expanded. In addition to an extensive trend exhibition focusing on four of the most important trends of the season, Trend Zone now also has a stage where you can have a seat and listen to inspiring trend lectures.

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013 will feature yet another chance for young designers to exhibit their work to producers and visitors from the furniture and lighting industry, the press, and the general public in the Greenhouse exhibition. The exhibitors taking part in Greenhouse 2013 have now been selected.

  • No Copy Ethical Council returns to Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair

    The newly formed No Copy Ethical Council is a collaboration between Stockholmsmässan and TMF [the Swedish Federation of Wood and Furniture Industry] and was introduced at the 2012 Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. The Council was a huge success and there will be a second chance in 2013 to receive impartial advice on intellectual property issues while the fair is in progress.

    On 17-20 January, it will be time for Young Designers at Formex. This will be the tenth occasion the zone for promising new designers is featured. Over the years, quite a few exhibitors at Young Designers have achieved success and public acclaim for their design work.

  • Future color and material trends on show at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair

    Future trends with their origins in Swedish design tradition will be featured in an exhibition courtesy of Materialbiblioteket at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair on 5-9 February. The exhibition is aimed at professional architects, designers and marketers, and has been produced in association with Oversight Trends.

    Once again the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013 will include an opportunity for young designers to exhibit their work to manufacturers and visitors from the furniture and lighting industry, as well as the general public, as part of the Greenhouse exhibition, which this year will be the work of the Note Design Studio.

    Suomalainen Mari Isopahkala on voittanut Nova-designpalkinnon ja on siten vuoden Nova 2012. Isopahkala vastaanotti torstai-iltana Kyuhyung Chon suunnitteleman diplomin Monica Försterilta Tukholman PUB-tavaratalossa pidetyssä palkintoseremoniassa.   • Mari wins Nova Design Award 2012

    Mari Isopahkala from Finland has won the Nova Nordic Designer of the Year 2012 award. On Thursday evening, she received her diploma – designed by Kyuhyung Cho – from Monica Förster during an award ceremony at PUB in Stockholm. A Nordic designer is chosen to receive the Nova design award every year by the Formex design trade fair, in association with Plaza Interiör and Gallery Pascale.

  • Tomorrow’s designers exhibiting at Formex

    Who will be the next rising star in the design world? There’s no better place to look for answers than Formex, the Nordic region’s largest trade fair for the interior design industry. The Design Students Selected by Formex exhibition and the Young Designer and Next Step zones will be showcasing products from design students and promising young designers.

  • Formex honours this year’s World Design Capital, Helsinki

    Helsinki has been designated the World Design Capital for 2012, and Formex is recognizing this with a design lounge in Stockholmsmässan’s entrance square. The lounge will showcase Finnish design and is being arranged by the Swedish Fashion Council in collaboration with Formex.

  • And the nominees for the 2012 Nova Design Award are…

    On 16 August, designer Monika Förster will present this year’s Nordic designer of the year with the Nova Design Award at the Formex design get-together at PUB. Among other honours, the winner will be given the opportunity to exhibit their works at this spring’s Formex design fair and at the Gallery Pascale, and will have them featured in an article in magazine Plaza Interiör.

  • Formex showcases Nordic Charm at PUB

    For the first time ever, Formex is treating design-interested members of the public to an exhibition in Stockholm City to coincide with this fall’s trade fair. During the August 16 - 19 2012 Design Days, Formex will be guesting the PUB department store in Stockholm.

  • Kitchen life in focus in The Odd Nest

    The task of designing the new stage and restaurant area at Formex has fallen to design team Oddbirds. The Odd Nest showcases everything from locally sourced produce to contemporary food trends and inspiration. Visitors are also offered a meeting place for thoughts, ideas and high-flying plans here.

  • Höstens Formex hyllar den nordiska charmen

    Under höstens Formex 2012 är temat Nordic Charm, en hyllning till den blonda, enkla nordiska inredningsstilen. Mässan får också en ny tid i kalendern och äger nu rum den 16-19 augusti. – Över 850 utställare visar höstens utbud tillsammans med seminarier, trendspaningar och inspirationsutställningar berättar projektledaren Chicie Lindgren.

  • Unprecedented international interest

    Overseas interest in Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which ended at the weekend, continues to grow. This year, one in four trade visitors was from overseas and the number of foreign visitors was up 13 % compared with 2011. The exhibition received a total of 38,814 visitors, which is 392 more than last year.
