  • Stockholm buzzing with design in Week 6

    It is soon time for this year’s design event! By combining Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair with Stockholm Design Week, Week 6 has now become a permanent event in the calendars of buyers, architects, designers and journalists from all over the world. With the trade fair at the middle of it all, the entire city will be buzzing with around 80 events, installations and parties.

  • Overflowing with Scandinavian design at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 7-11, is the world’s largest meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and light design. This is further enhanced at this year’s fair with guest exhibitions that shine a spotlight on Scandinavian design. More than 700 companies gather at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, and 80 percent of all exhibiting companies come from Scandinavia.

  • Welcome to the Hayon DNA Gallery at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 7-11, 2017 invites the visitor to enter the Hayon DNA Gallery, a unique structure designed by this year´s Guest of Honour – the Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon. The installation is characterized with his typical blend of fantasy, whimsy and craftsmanship

  • Stelton wins the Formex Formidable 2016 design award

    The jury-selected award Formex Formidable 2016 goes to Stelton for its Collar collection, which consists of a coffee grinder, mocha pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. The collection was designed by Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri. The People’s Choice award, which is selected by the general public, goes to Skrufs glasbruk’s bowl with spout designed by Carina Seth Andersson.

  • Formex - filled with inspiration and design

    At Fomrex, the largest meeting place for nordic interior and design, January 18-21, 2017, visitors are treated to several design experiences. For example, the winner of Formex Formidable, an annual design award, will be announced and the rug as an object of art and design will be highlighted in its own exhibition.

  • Design stars of tomorrow in Greenhouse

    Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s hall for young and unestablished designers, is a stepping stone for many of tomorrow’s design stars.The jury has now selected who will exhibit in 2017, including names such as Lies-Marie Hoffmann, Frag Woodall, Studio Føy and yuue design. In total, 31 designers or design teams and 31 design colleges from 18 countries will be taking part.

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 7-11, 2017, offers a forum for knowledge and discussions within the area of design and architecture, Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks. The forum will have a theme this year of “Sustainability Thinking”.

  • Jaime Hayon is the Guest of Honour 2017

    Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon, known for his playful expression and versatile production, has been given the assignment to create an exhibition in Stockholmsmässan’s Entrance Hall. This is the 14th time the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair is inviting a well-respected international designer to create an installation.

  • Humanistic modernism in Nordic Kicks

    This spring’s theme at the Formex interior design and gifts exhibition, Nordic Kicks, approaches our design heritage from several new angles. We design our interiors with a personal touch and a lot of color as well as with warmth and artistic sensitivity. The trend theme can be summarized by the phrase, "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, something given".

  • The Design Bar 2016 - All the fun of the fair

    At Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which will be held February 9-13, 2016, the Design Bar and the Design Talks will be designed by architect Andreas Martin-Löf. Under the concept “All the fun of the fair”, he would like to create an evocative atmosphere, miles away from hard wooden chairs and simplicity. The Design Bar will be created in cooperation with award-winning chef Fredrik Eriksson.

This year the assignment has gone to British design studio, Barber & Osgerby, who have received international acclaim for their innovative furniture, industrial design and architecture.

    On 19-22 August, Formex, the interior design and gift fair, will take place at Stockholmsmässan. Some of the guest exhibitions at this fall are showcasing repurposing, considerate arts and crafts, and paying tribute to linen and the art of table setting.

    On August 19, the winner of the design award, Formex Nova - Nordic Designer of the Year, will be announced. Formex established the award five years ago to promote high-quality Nordic design. The award goes to a young designer who is working in the Nordic region and has been selected by an expert jury.

  • Codesign creates an architectural inspiration-exhibition at Formex

    The architecture firm Codesign will create the entrance hall exhibition based on Nordic Essence, the theme of this fall’s Formex interior design and gifts exhibition. The concept uses the Nordic craft traditions, lifestyles and architecture as a point of departure and has been given the working name, Huskatten (Housecat).

    Nordic Essence is this fall's trend theme for the Formex interior design and gift fair that will be held August 19-22, 2015. It refers to a single cohesive idea that encompasses everything from building facades to everyday items and interior design details. Inspiration for the theme comes from our nature and surroundings in the Nordic region.

  • The Accent thermos by Sagaform is the winner of the design award Formex Formidable 2014

    Formex Formidable is an annual design award to encourage and reward interesting, qualitative and contemporary design. The winner of the juried Formex Formidable 2014 is the Accent thermos from Sagaform, designed by Gustav Hallén. The honorary award, People's Choice, goes to Åkerlapp a collection of linen in cooperation between Växbo Lin and Note Design Studio.
