  • The spring season starts at Formex

    This spring we want to design our interiors with a personal touch and a lot of color as well as with warmth and artistic sensitivity. On January 20-23 Formex opens the season for the interior design industry at Stockholmsmässan. This spring's trend theme, Nordic Kicks, offers "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, something given".

  • Architecture firms Snøhetta and OMA to Stockholm Design Talks

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair's own forum for knowledge and discussions in the area of design and architecture - Stockholm Design Talks - presents several well-respected firms and lecturers to talk about architecture in Scandinavia and the world. Participants include Jenny B. Osuldsen from Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta and Shohei Shigematsu from OMA in New York.

  • GastroNord focuses on the need for skilled employees in the restaurant industry

    The restaurant industry’s most important issue – the supply of skilled labor – is in focus at the GastroNord trade fair, which will be held April 26-29, 2016 at Stockholmsmässan. The industry is planning a joint manifesto, and debates, discussions and themed days will be held during the fair.

  • Formex Trend Restaurant offers a fantastic combination of interior design and food

    Nordic Kicks, Formex's Trend Restaurant, offers visitors a unique design and culinary experience. Stylist Jan Rundgren interprets the season's trends and the menu is selected in collaboration with Thomas Andreasson, Chef at Mässrestauranger. Famous Chef Tina Nordström also makes a guest appearance. This is the first time a Guest Chef will compose a dish specifically for Formex.

  • International chambers of commerce gain a new meeting place

    Nordbygg presents a new arrangement that will facilitate and stimulate international business exchanges within the construction and real estate sector. Nordbygg will be held 5-8 of April 2016 at Stockholmsmässan. The event attracts around 900 exhibitors and 53,000 visitors and is organized in partnership with leading associations in the Swedish industry.

  • New green products from the forest’s raw materials

    Raw materials and waste products from the forest are predicted to become very important to tomorrow’s climate-smart manufacturing. Green carbon fibre, bioplastics, synthetic petrol and “tech-talking” packaging are some of the futuristic products to be showcased at International Wood Biorefining Week from 24 to 26 May next year at Stockholmsmässan.

  • Sustainability a must for the design stars of tomorrow

    The Jury has now selected the exhibitors who will be showing off their wares in Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s hall for young and up-and-coming designers, in 2016. Haha Sthlm, Maiju Uski and Darling Design are a few of the lucky designers and design studios to be chosen. They all have one thing in common - sustainability in the design process.

  • Geometric games, tactile surfaces and constant motion at Formex

    Nordic Kicks is the spring theme at Formex, the Nordic region’s largest trade fair for interior design and gifts. The theme will be presented in an inspirational exhibition that has been designed by the design group, Oddbirds. The exhibition contains three spatial environments that have been inspired in part by geometric games, churches and display windows.

  • Stockholm Design Talks theme for 2016 is “Scandinavia Now”

    For the third consecutive year, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair is arranging Stockholm Design Talks, the fairs own forum for knowledge and discussions within the area of design. The theme for 2016 is Scandinavia Now, and shines a light on topics and projects that are happening now.

  • A Desire to Experiment at Young Designers

    This coming spring’s edition of Young Designers, Formex’s platform for new talent, is set to consist of 21 selected participants from a variety of categories. Below are some of the experimental and ground-breaking products that will be on show, including handicrafts made from iron netting, designs with emotional functionality and shaped, sustainable soap.

  • Largest Formex in history

    Last week, on August 19-22, Formex kickstarted the season for the interior design and gifts industry at Stockholmsmässan. This fall's exhibition was the largest Formex in history in terms of surface area.

  • Erik Olovsson & Kyuhyung Cho are the winners of Formex Nova 2015

    “Kyuhyung Cho&Erik Olovsson are awarded Formex Nova for the playful collaboration in their three collections Room, Sine and Numbers. With a fusion of graphic elements and architectural volumes, the creations of these two designers are characterized by contrasts between light and heavy, discipline and playfulness, and 2- and 3-dimensionality, conjuring up a feeling of opposites in perfect balance.”

  • The House Cat Festival at Formex

    The interior design fair Formex, August 19-22, is arranging The House Cat Festival to celebrate and explore Nordic craftsmanship. During four days, artisans from every corner of Sweden will be on hand to show us how to bind baskets, embroider, carve wood and weave.

    Next week, on August 19, Formex, the Nordic region’s largest trade fair for interior design and gifts, will open its doors at Stockholmsmässan.     Every season Formex receives a number of exciting applications for Young Designers – Formex's platform for young, unestablished designers. At the fair in August 19-22, 23 selected designers will be introduced in different categories, including SAGA MELINA and Nina Johanna Christensen, who are participating for the first time.
