  • Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair establishes a new design award – Born Classic

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair is establishing a new design award – Born Classic – in collaboration with the auction house Bukowskis, which will form the jury. The award will go to a piece of furniture or lighting that has qualities that could make it a design classic of the future. The objective is to bring attention to and encourage good, long lasting design.

    What just might be Stockholm’s longest table will be on display at Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s jury-assessed area for young, unestablished designers and design schools. The designers behind the table, duo Thau & Kallio, have been given the assignment to design Greenhouse Bar and Café as well as an exhibition under the direction of the Materials Library.

    The Norwegian design studio Anderssen & Voll has been given the assignment to create the Design Bar for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 5-9, 2019. This time, the menu is being created in collaboration with Frida Ronge, Culinary Director at the restaurants Tak and UNN in Stockholm.

  • Neri&Hu named Guest of Honour 2019

    Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, founding partners of the award-winning Chinese Neri&Hu, an inter-disciplinary architectural design practice, have received the assignment to create an installation at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. This is the 16th time the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has invited a well-respected international designer or architect to create an installation.

  • Stockholmsmässan realigns and hires Production Director

    Anette Ternström Andersson, with a long track record from some of the capital’s biggest arenas, will become the new Production Director at Stockholmsmässan. The position is a new one and was created as part of a larger reorganization effort to increase the company’s commercial appeal. At the same time, Camilla Hållbro, former Director of Event Services, will become the new Commercial Director.

  • International guests at Formex

    This fall’s Formex, August 21-24, has an international flair. For example, 150 years of diplomatic ties between Sweden and Japan will be celebrated with an exhibition on Japanese design and craftsmanship. The U.S. trend analyst Lilly Berelovich will also hold a seminar at the fair.

    Two international congresses are coming: one that is bigger than ever and one that has combined five different meetings for a record-long ten-day event. Where?   • Formex scholarship to students from Beckmans College of Design

    Design and interiors fair Formex has established a design scholarship that will be given to a new graduate from Beckmans College of Design. The aim is to create visibility in the industry for as of yet unestablished designers who through the fair are given the opportunity to come into contact with buyers and the media.

  • More than 48,000 visitors at Nordbygg 2018

    Very well-visited, as expected. The number of visitors finished at 48,260 for Nordbygg 2018, just over one thousand more people than in 2016. The positive reviews are coming thick and fast, and already the bookings for Nordbygg 2020 are coming in.

    ”Rosmari” – work trousers for pregnant women from the company Operose. That is the winner of the Nordbygg Gold Medal for the best new product of the year 2018. Operose has designed several types of work clothes for women in the construction industry. With the new trousers for pregnant construction workers and painters, the range has had a pressing addition that won the gold medal convincingly.

  • Many recognitions at Nordbygg - five great prizes awarded

    Thursday evening was the time for the big awards at Nordbygg. Five great prizes within construction and housing were awarded on the big stage. One of the presenters was the Secretary of Housing and Digitalisation, Peter Eriksson, and one of the winners was the hockey legend and property owner, Peter Forsberg. The Nordbygg Gold Medal was awarded to the company Operose.

  • Presentation of nominees for the Formex Nova award 2018

    The nominees are now finalized for the Formex Nova design award – which will be awarded at the Formex Nova ceremony August 21, 2018. One young unestablished designer operative within the Nordic region is each year selected by an expert jury to be awarded the title Formex Nova award winner.

  • “900 companies have outfitted their showcases with all the latest!”

    Nordbygg 2018 is up and running. The construction and property sector is welcomed to a fair full of innovation, contacts and knowledge in all showcases and on different stages. During the introductory press briefing, highlights and some clear themes of the week were presented: recruitment, digitalisation, equality and the role of the client.
