New research suggests that milk has a high sustainability score and Arla aims to make it even higher by lowering emissions from farming, production, transport and packaging.

  • Arla Foods amba milk price

    Arla Foods amba is reducing its global on-account milk price by €1.5 cents, with effect from 28 April 2014. This reduces Arla’s standard litre price in the UK by 1.27ppl taking it to 33.74 pence per litre.

  • Arla signs up a further 150 million litres

    Arla Foods has secured over 150 million litres of owner milk, in its latest recruitment initiative, just three months after 1,200 British farmers were offered co-ownership of Arla Foods amba.

  • Proposed merger between EGM Walhorn and Arla Foods amba

    Dairy cooperatives Eupener Genossenschaftsmolkerei Walhorn (EGM Walhorn) and Arla Foods amba have today announced their intention to merge. The Boards of Directors have circulated a proposal to their members and the boards of representatives of both companies are expected to vote on the proposal in mid May.

  • New strategy for sustainable dairy farming

    Arla has developed a global strategy for Sustainable Dairy Farming, focusing on animals, climate, nature and resources. The new strategy will further reinforce Arla’s position as a responsible company and assist Arla farmers with their ongoing work around climate, waste and animal welfare.

    Arla published its Annual Report 2013 as well as its CSR report, revealing how the company lived up to its social, ethical, environmental and financial responsibilities. For example, Arla continued to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases – despite increasing production.

  • Arla Foods aims to source 100% RTRS certification for soy in cow feed

    Arla Foods announces that with immediate effect it will commit to purchase RTRS (Round Table on Responsible Soy) certificates to cover 100% of the soy used in cow feed by its farmers across Europe. This is part of the dairy cooperative’s on-going commitment to support sustainable soy production.

  • Global growth creates a strong performance for 2013

    Today Arla Foods reports its 2013 results announcing its highest Performance Price ever in its history and an improved balance sheet. This is as a result of a strong European business and rapid growth in its growth markets outside the EU – at a time when Arla’s most important ingredient, milk, has increased in value worldwide.
