BPW Bergische Achsen KG is welcoming the concept from the German Federal Ministry of Transport to fund environmentally friendly transport. The commitment to cover up to 80% of the additional vehicle costs for any tonnage creates investment and planning certainty for the vehicle industry. It will enable BPW and its partners to bring a 7.5-tonne electric vehicle to the market in 2021.
The world of transport is developing at great speed and is coming face to face with current challenges from digitisation to new climate regulations to the coronavirus pandemic. BPW is facing this transition with the consistency of a family-owned company that is more than 120 years old, anticipating global and social megatrends and successfully shaping the things to come.
Truck and trailer together make a strong team. In particular, there is enormous power in the intelligent cooperation of a tractor unit and semitrailer. The Swiss forwarder G. Leclerc Transport AG is making targeted use of this: the company's entire fleet (200 tractor units and 160 semi-trailers) is equipped with telematics from idem telematics.
The BPW "AirSave" tyre control system has become a bestseller because it saves tyres, fuel and nerves - and already returns a profit within its first year. BPW now supplies a telematics kit that automatically warns drivers, dispatchers and other recipients via an app, an online portal, email or SMS as soon as a tyre weakens.
Michael Pfeiffer, Managing Partner of BPW Bergische Achsen Kommanditgesellschaft, will resign from the Management Board and withdraw from the company at his own request effective December 31st, 2020. BPW is leading the consortium.
The precision and unconditional reliability of truck and trailer telematics is essential for the transport of food and pharmaceuticals and idem telematics impressed the expert jury of the Telematics Awards with its innovative, tried and tested solutions. In 2020, the company has received an award in the category "Telematics for refrigerated transport".
Corona hits the transport industry hard. This means that many transport companies are doing without the purchase of new trailers, with some even saving on maintenance. BPW and PE Automotive are therefore launching a support programme together to have fleets of trailers reconditioned, keeping them on the road for longer.
Digitalisation, lack of drivers, climate regulations, corona crisis: in the transport world, nothing remains as it was. Only one thing seems to have been immovably fixed for 14 years: BPW wins the ETM Award as strongest brand for trailer axles and running gear systems.
The Truck Racing Team T Sport Bernau with driver and runner-up European champion Antonio Albacete can look forward to the support of the BPW Group this year. PE Automotive GmbH & Co. KG and BPW Bergische Achsen KG have extended their partnership with the team for 2020. The BPW Aftermarket Group Deutschland as well as the brands Monark and Ermax are also getting involved.
A successful start for motionist.com: just one year after its launch, BPW's online transport and logistics portal has been awarded with the Automotive Brand Contest.
