Looking for an exciting alternative to teaching? Try sales and marketing states Immensus Associates

With more pressure piling on the UK's teachers, many will make the difficult decision to pursue a different career path in the coming 12 months. With a background in teaching, Managing Director at Immensus Associates Jamila Zadran believes transitioning into the sales and marketing industry could help former teachers find success fast.

Immensus Associates: About the firm

Becoming a teacher can be one of the UK's most rewarding jobs, however research released this year by the National Education Union has revealed that the majority of teachers are actually considering a career change. The poll from the NEU found that over 80 percent of teachers surveyed were thinking about quitting due to the mounting pressure of increased hours and low pay. In fact, findings from the National Foundation for educational research confirmed that teachers now work longer hours and have seen a far more significant drop in earnings than police officers and nurses.

Other contributing factors include growing class sizes, a lack of behaviour management training to help cope with challenging children and minimal progression opportunities.

With a background in teaching, Managing Director of Immensus Associates Jamila Zadran understands the struggles faced by teachers, and how a lack of progression can make the role seem ten times harder. “In schools, especially small schools, there is no opportunity for progression unless a member of staff leaves. Teachers have ambitions too, but this environment doesn’t support their goals at the pace they would like.” outlines the business owner.

Immensus Associates is confident that teachers seeking a change of pace and a chance to progress should consider the sales and marketing industry. The firm’s Managing Director has herself experienced how the industry not only matched her career aspirations but also offered the opportunity to align these goals with her desire to teach and support others in their own development.

The firm currently has a range of openings that it believes are well suited to teachers and their skillsets. These openings combine marketing, sales and business development – starting with customer interactions at promotional pop-up events and leading into an opportunity to teach and guide others within the industry, with the potential to start their very own sales and marketing venture.

Immensus Associates believes that the ability to teach and make a lasting impact on others is a priceless skill, and therefore is eager to help teachers make the most of their talents without having to compromise their desire for professional progression. The firm is urging any teachers looking to start fresh in a new sector to get in touch.
