    All stops were pulled out last night by Bury Council’s Winter Maintenance team to keep the Borough’s key roads moving and rescue remote villages. Affetside and Nangreaves village would have been isolated today if it wasn’t for the team working through the night in arctic conditions.

  • Bury Council tackles winter weather head-on to keep residents safe

    Bury Council’s winter maintenance teams have been working day and night to help keep the borough’s key roads moving. The team of 4 gritting trucks were out last night from 6pm and then again at 9.30pm and 2am. This morning they were out from 7am and gritting is continuing throughout the day. The service has also responded where snow has been drifting onto roads in exposed locations.

  • Bury coach nets national tennis award

    National tennis charity Tennis For Free has announced its 2017 awards and one Bury coach has netted an honour, recognising him as one of the best in the country.
