Be the difference - on national Child Exploitation Awareness Day

Today is national Child Exploitation Awareness Day and communities and individuals are being urged to raise their voices and make a real difference.

Councillor Tamoor Tariq, cabinet member for children, young people and skills, said: "Child exploitation can happen to any young person, and it’s not always easy to know when you are being exploited. Everyone can play an important role by knowing what to look out for, and to be the difference by speaking out to support a young person at risk.”

If you are concerned about a young person or want some advice, visit the It’s Not Okay website: www.itsnotokay.co.uk/get-help/ or call the NSPCC helpline: 0808 800 5000.
