Enlighten Festival - 20 and 21 October - road closures

To allow the Enlighten Festival to safely take place on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October there will be road closures and parking suspensions at the following locations from 5pm to 10pm.

  • Bolton Street (from the East Lancashire Railway to Market Place)
  • Broad Street
  • Crompton Street
  • Castle Street
  • Manchester Road (between Moss Street and St Mary's Place)
  • Market Place
  • Market Street
  • The Rock (from Market Place to Union Street)
  • The Wylde

While the road closures are in place, the hackney carriage stand at Kay Gardens/Haymarket Street will be located on the other side of the road.

To create the magical experience of the Enlighten festival, we have reduced some of the normal street lighting. Please bear this in mind and take care when walking around the town.

More information about the festival and a plan of the road closures and diversions is available to view at the Enlighten Bury Festival website.
