Adding sparkle to your Christmas dinner

Visitors to Tottington Library enjoyed a wine tasting masterclass designed to put some sparkle into Christmas dinner.

The library held a demonstration by the Vineyard wine shop in Ramsbottom, going through different varieties for different courses: starting with the fizz, learning the difference between frizzante (semi-sparkling) and spumante (sparkling); red and white wines for the turkey; and port with the cheese platter.

More wine (and maybe cocktail) tasting events are being arranged at local libraries in 2017 – stay tuned for details.
