Press release -
All Change at Bury East Township Forum
A busy night is promised at the next meeting of Bury East Township Forum, which is held on Monday 25 November.
Bury Council will present its Plan for Change 3, setting out proposals to save a further £2.2 million in its next budget (2014/15). Residents are invited to take part in the consultation, which runs until 17 January 2014.
Staff from the council’s fostering team will be on hand to give out information and answer questions from anyone who may be interested in becoming a foster carer.
The meeting is held at Redvales Children’s Centre on Dorset Drive, Bury, starting at 7pm.
Before the meeting, from 6.30pm, residents can meet the recently appointed Sports Activators who are encouraging women and girls to take up exercise as part of a £2.5 million pilot project in Bury called I Will If You Will.
There will also be a police update and the usual public question time where anyone can bring up matters of local concern.
Tan Ahmed, chair of Bury East Township Forum, said: “This is a varied meeting with something of interest for everyone. Consultation about the current council budget is important, as the views of the local community are extremely important in terms of setting priorities.”
