Build a DIY noise machine with the Noise Orchestra

Fancy building an electronic noise machine, and then playing the instrument in a live demo?

Make a diary date for Monday 14 August, when Bury Library will be running the latest Big Ideas Generator session

Using a DIY Noise Machine Kit, participants will be led through the process of building their own mini-synthesizer with a light sensor and learn how to breadboard a fully working circuit.

You can explore the principles of graphic sound, create paper scores inspired by drawings, think about pattern, visual rhythms and the sonic output of visual shapes.

Using turntables and light, you can then play your new instrument, improvising and performing with colour and sound in a live demo.

The session is for young people aged 12+ and takes place from 10.30am to 3.30pm, with a break between 12.30pm and 1.30pm (bring your own lunch!).

This event is free, but places must be booked: go to https://noiseorchestrabury.eventbrite.co.uk
