Bury Works recruitment event draws hundreds of job seekers
More than 500 people attended the Bury Works recruitment event this week, run by Bury Council in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and ADAB,
Held at the Mosses Centre in Bury, it attracted 515 job seekers eager to explore new career opportunities and access additional support, including apprenticeships and upskilling courses.
The event was also attended by 22 employers and 9 support providers, offering a wide range of opportunities and guidance to attendees.
Early results are already promising - with 5 job offers made on the day, 40 interviews scheduled, and 132 candidates invited to complete applications.
Councillor Charlotte Morris, cabinet member for culture, the economy and skills, said: “The feedback from both attendees and employers has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the value of partnership working. Events like these showcase the power of collaboration in providing opportunities for Bury residents, helping them take meaningful steps toward employment and career growth.”
