Celebrate National Poetry Day at Bury Library

Celebrate National Poetry Day at Bury Library with a free event on Thursday 3 October at 2.30pm.

Gaia Holmes will be giving a reading of some of her work, including from her most recent collection “Lifting the Piano with One Hand”, published by Comma Press.

Gaia is a familiar face on the local poetry scene, and has read at many literary festivals in Britain and beyond. She has held a wide variety of jobs such as a busker, cleaner, gallery attendant, oral historian, lollypop lady, poet in residence at Bradford Library and also a freelance writer and creative writing lecturer.

There is no need to book for this free event, and tea and coffee will be provided.
