Celebrate reading – and win prizes – on World Book Day

Young people are invited to discover a new world of the imagination by taking part in World Book Day on 3 March.

This is the 19th celebration of authors, illustrators and of reading, specially designated by Unesco and marked in more than 100 countries across the world.

In the UK, the aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.

To celebrate on Thursday 3 March, Bury libraries will be giving £1 World Book Day tokens to children and young people aged under 18 - but move quickly, because tokens are limited.

These tokens can be exchanged for a £1 book at bookshops or supermarkets, or they may also be put towards the cost of a more expensive book. (Only one token can be used per transaction).
