Press release -

Flooding in Pakistan

Bury Council’s Leader, Councillor Eamonn O’Brien has spoken about the tragedy in Pakistan.

“Our thoughts go out to all those who have been impacted by the devastating floods in Pakistan where there has been historic rainfall affecting so much of the country,” he said.

“Annual rainfall has been ten times higher than normal leaving one-third of the country underwater due to flooding.

“We know this impact extends to many of our residents who have friends and family in the country and for whom this will be a worrying time – Bury’s thoughts are with you along with those leading the emergency response in Pakistan.”
