Press release -

Free access to 1.5 million academic research papers

Students, independent researchers and small businesses can now access many of the world's best academic papers through their local libraries.

Access to Research is a free service, available to anyone who visits a library in the borough, and is the result of a unique collaboration between librarians and publishers who have made their journal content available for free.

The service boasts 1.5 million articles on a wide range of university level research areas including the arts, social sciences, maths, engineering and business.

Councillor Jane Lewis, cabinet member for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “We’re delighted to offer access to this wonderful service. It’s a great addition to the library service’s existing online resources and I’m sure it will be well used.”
