Free creative art courses for teenagers

Young people aged 12-19 and interested in creative arts are being offered the chance to work with a digital photographer, a video artist or a musician.

Bury Library Service and Unity House are looking for 24 young people from the Topping Fold, Dumers lane and Brandlesholme areas to get involved in a new and exciting cultural project.

Unity House http://unity-house.co.uk/ is a Manchester company that specialises in high quality media content for broadcast, online streaming and public exhibition.

With funding made available from the Arts Council England and the National Lottery, the artwork generated will be displayed as an online gallery with soundscape and photographs produced will also be displayed at Bury Art Gallery and Museum with a permanent display at the three project locations.

The project aims to create new digital artwork in photography, video and music, enabling young people to gain an understanding of arts practice and empower them to explore the arts and culture.  It will also allow digital artists to develop their craft in response to a shared theme while engaging the people of Bury in experiencing high-quality community art and providing the communities in which the work was originated with a lasting legacy.
