Help with jobs, skills and credit at your library

Help to apply for jobs and credit is now available through a free online service offered at your local library.

The Universal Skills database uses questionnaires comprising 25 questions per subject area for the following:

      
  • Universal Jobmatch Awareness (basic computer skills needed to      complete job applications via Universal Jobmatch)
  •  
  • Employability Skills Awareness (learning about all the essential      skills you need to do most jobs)
  •  
  • Universal Credit Awareness (how to create an account, login and      input your details so you can make a claim).

You can access this database in all Bury Council libraries and from home with a valid library card number.

Formed in April 1974 as a result of Local Government re-organisation it was one of the ten original districts that formed the County of Greater Manchester.
