Hop, skip and a jump for nursery children

Children at Fairfield Private Day Nursery have been hopping along to their local library to learn about the different seasons of the year.

They attended Topping Fold Community Centre and Library to hear how new life begins in spring following the long winter.

The youngsters listened to stories about the life of a frog and were then encouraged to discuss the topic. They then created a large picture display which detailed what they had learned.

Debbie Brady, deputy manager of the nursery, said: “We love to visit the library regularly; it’s close by, and gives us access to a wide range of books on different topics. It’s a friendly and welcoming place and great for the children to visit. Hopefully these visits will also encourage the children to visit the library with their parents outside the nursery environment.”
