Let’s live well – every change for the better counts!

An incredible 82 community-led Let’s Live Well projects are getting off the ground across the borough of Bury.

The projects have been funded via grants from Bury Council’s £490k LET’S do it! Health Improvement Fund. The aim of the fund is to support residents to recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and build resilience as we learn to live with the virus for the foreseeable future.

Councillor Andrea Simpson, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “The ‘Let’s live well’ programme has strong links with Bury Council’s LET’S do it! strategyand everyone having opportunities to live a great life.

“It’s a terrific example of the council working with and putting communities at the heart of local service delivery, empowering them to build their own resilience and take greater control of their own lives.

“The activities on offer are extensive and range from guided walks, litter picking and cooking classes to off-road bike rides, advice sessions, chair-based classes and so much more.

“There should be something for all ages in every part of Bury.”

The Let’s Live Well activities will be delivered in Bury West, East and North, Prestwich, Whitefield and Unsworth and some will span across the borough. Most activities are offered free, but a small charge may be made if this is necessary for upkeep of the sessions.
