Lights, Christmas, action - at Prestwich this Sunday

Christmas is coming to Prestwich with festive entertainment, shopping and the lights switch-on taking place on Sunday 1 December.

Among the highlights are a Prestwich Artisan Market in the Longfield precinct, and a Prestwich Food Festival in the Longfield Suite.

There will be lots of family entertainment on offer, with stilt walkers, a balloon modeller, magician, face painters, glitter tattoos and a festive Penny Farthing entertainer.

The day runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm, and the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Sharon Briggs, will switch on the Christmas lights at 3pm.

Councillor Jane Lewis, cabinet member for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “Residents of all ages are invited to what will be a real festive day of celebration and fun.”
