Look out for your postal votes

Press release -

Look out for your postal votes

Residents who have registered for a postal vote in May’s elections will start to receive their ballot papers from today (Friday 19 April).

If you haven’t received your postal vote by Friday 26 April, please contact the electoral registration officer on electionservices@bury.gov.uk or call 0161 253 5114.

If you did not register for a postal vote for the Bury Council and GM Mayoral elections, you will have to vote in person at your local designated polling station.

If you forget to post your postal vote, you can hand it in at Bury Town Hall or at your polling station.

Please note: the Elections Act 2023 has introduced some changes to the way postal votes can be handed in.

Electors may only hand in their own postal vote plus up to five others. Political campaigners can only hand in their own postal vote plus up to five close family members or someone they provide regular care for. If postal votes are handed in, the elector must complete a new Postal Vote Return Form.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the elections team on electionservices@bury.gov.uk or call 0161 253 5252.
