Mayor’s appeal to businesses for charity

Local businesses are being asked to bring some Christmas cheer to charities chosen by the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Sharon Briggs.

She is appealing for donations which will be raffled off as prizes at this year’s Mayoral Charity Ball, which takes place in the Longfield Suite in Prestwich on Friday 6 December.

Cllr Briggs has chosen Bury Cancer Support and Making Space as the main beneficiaries of her charity appeal this year. Other local charities will also receive support from the appeal.

• Bury Cancer Support provides support for anyone whose life is touched by cancer.

• Making Space helps people in need of care and support, including those with physical and mental health conditions, people with learning difficulties and dementia, and their carers.
