Mayor’s sporting visit goes swimmingly

Bury’s sporting champions were congratulated by the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Mike Connolly.

He visited Thomas Gleaves, who won Coach of the Year at the 2016 Bury Sports Awards, to see the good work he does with Radcliffe Water Polo Club.

He also met club chairman Mark Evans and watched a match between the Radcliffe team and Bury Grammar School for Boys Water Polo Team at the Castle Leisure Centre in Bury.

The mayor also met the ladies from the I Will If You Will #TryYourKitOn Club Fund programme which aims at increasing female participation in sport.
