Press release -

Winter warmers at the library lunch club

A successful Lunch Club is starting up again at Moorside Community Centre and Library

The club was launched last year with funding from Seedfield Tenants and Residents Association through the Moorside Community First Panel. It will run from 6 November for 18 weeks and will include lunch and a social activity. It is open to everyone who lives in the Moorside area and costs £2 per person per lunch session.

Dawn Broadhurst, community development officer, said: “The lunch club is only one of many activities we organise for the community, such as a knitting group on Tuesdays (2-4pm) and a craft group on Mondays (1.30-3.30pm). The lunch club particularly made a real difference to people in the community as it was an opportunity for them to get out of the house, meet new people and generally feel less isolated.”

Booking for the lunch club is essential: call 0161 253 5201 or email Moorside.lib@bury.gov.uk
